Join the GLOBAL DAY OF ACTION FOR CLIMATE JUSTICE on November 6, 2021
On November 6, climate justice movements across the world are organising decentralised mass mobilisations in a Global Day of Action for Climate Justice, bringing together movements to build power for system change – from indigenous struggles to trade unions, from racial justice groups to youth strikers.
We call on all formations under the International League of Peoples’ Struggle and the broad banner of the Southern People’s Action on COP26 to join the action through onground and online mass actions. There will be an onground Global Southern People’s side protest event before linking up to the central mobilization at Kelvingrove Park, Glasgow. There will also be decentralized actions across Asia-Pacific, Latin America, Africa, and Europe.

The climate emergency is upon us, and it is already disproportionately impacting the lives of grassroots communities and marginalized sectors. While government and industry leaders, climate experts and civil society convene in Glasgow to chart forward the fate of the world for the 26th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), grassroots insights, inputs and initiatives are notably absent, if not intentionally sidelined and disregarded.

It is in this context that the International League of Peoples' Struggle, Southern Peoples' Action on COP26, Global Tapestry of Alternatives, and Adelante conducts this event with the main aim of gathering and promoting visions and demands of peoples from the grassroots of the world we want to create - one that is socially just, equitable, and environmentally sustainable.
